Start a compact five-note pattern and follow the illuminated piano key as it rises and falls. Reference tones are optional, volume-controlled and paired with visual cues; microphone feedback marks each target as waiting, close or matched.
A repeatable daily utility
The first pattern stays within a compact major pentachord and can be transposed to a comfortable starting note. This is practice guidance, not medical advice: use an easy volume, never force an extreme and stop if singing feels uncomfortable.
Use the instrument
- Allow the microphone. Start from the instrument and approve microphone access. Audio is analysed on this device and is never uploaded.
- Sing a steady tone. Use a comfortable vowel and hold the note. The detector waits for a clear, stable signal instead of counting breaths or squeaks.
- Follow the live feedback. Read the note, frequency, cents and visual shape together. Range mode guides you low then high; the other modes focus on one practice job.
- Stop when you are finished. Stopping releases the microphone immediately. Range results can be saved locally or shared as a generated image without an account.
Frequently asked questions
Does this vocal app record or upload my voice?
No. The microphone signal is analysed inside your browser and is not recorded, uploaded or sent to an API. The app only stores settings and completed range summaries locally on your device, and you can clear those at any time.
Why does the detector ignore some sounds?
That is intentional. Breathing, handling noise and very brief squeaks are unreliable pitch evidence, so the detector requires a clear signal and the range test requires a note to be sustained before it can change your measured low or high note.
Will it work on a phone?
Yes, in a modern mobile browser with microphone permission. On iPhone and iPad, reference tones may be muted by the hardware silent switch even while microphone detection works, so every audio cue is paired with a visible cue.
How long should a vocal warm-up take?
A short, easy five-to-ten-minute sequence is enough for many routine sessions, but needs vary by person and task. Begin in a comfortable middle area, use gentle volume and stop if you feel pain, persistent hoarseness or strain; this tool is not medical guidance.
